By the time your colony is size 4, you could be generating 50 food, making the bonus +75 food, or about +100% bonus on 40 happiness. Because the colony center doesn't produce research or energy, you can ensure that the bonus triggers on production, which would be at least 90 production, or more than +100% bonus on invested 40 happiness. With the dome, you'll be able to trigger happiness events every other turn, which may speed up your game a lot. It's so good, that you may re-evaluate the +2 Colonist perk just due to the Dome. However 1/2 the time you'll get 100+ energy or 10 cosmite/influence. With every event, you should have just a 2 out of 6 chance (food and research) to get just 50 resources for 40 happiness. With the additional resources from HQ, your capital produces: 20 food 70 energy 80 production 25 research 5 cosmite 5 influence.Įnergy, influence, and cosmite are very valuable to expand early on. You absolutely should work happiness in your capital at the beginning of the game.
